The Gala

On Sunday we had a fantastic gala. There were hundreds of people. We think the whole school was there. We felt great because there were lots of exciting things to do and great bargains.

Pink Day at School

Today we are all dressed in pink, even some of the boys.  We are dressed in pink because we are helping to raise money to help people who have cancer.  We had to bring a gold coin for a donation.  Lauren, Lizzie, Henri, Tia, and Abby, Tara, and Jeanine  made a fantastic effort!

PE

Hi everyone
Here is some information about the children in Room 5.  We love doing PE!  Some of our favourite games are Line Tag, Dodge Ball, Bump and Vulture and Lion.  Soon we will put some photos of us playing one of these games.

This is Mrs DGs cat.  it didn't win the photo competition and she doesn't know why??
We are working on colour mixing for art this term.  We made sponge fish.  We had to use one Primary colour, one secondary colour,  one tone and one tint.  Keep an eye out for them.

Splash!

Today we visited the Maitai Dam and saw for ourselves where all the people living in Nelson and Stoke get their water.  The drive there was long, winding, narrow and muddy.  Quite exciting too when a big logging truck passes you travelling in the opposite direction.

Hi everyone
We have been practising our photography skills and took photos of autumn leaves to illustrate our published poems.  Here are some examples.

Here is an example of one of our poems.
Autumn by Lizzie
I found a leaf.
it has lots of veins on it.
It's got a very long stalk and it looks old.
It's a funny looking leaf.  it looks like a person.
